Air Intake Filter is the first line of defense for a rotary screw or reciprocating compressor. Its primary job is to trap atmospheric dust, pollen, and other airborne particulates before they enter the compression chamber (the air-end). Because a compressor "breathes" in a massive volume of air, even a slightly dusty environment can pull pounds of debris into the machine. Without a high-quality intake filter, these particles would mix with the lubricating oil, turning it into an abrasive paste that quickly destroys the high-precision rotors and bearings.
